Conversation Hour (05/07)

Today students practiced the simple present and present continuous in the game "The Wind Blows for Anyone Who..." Everyone had a chance to practice speaking.

To play this game students stand in a circle with a piece of paper marking their spot on the floor. One student stands in the circle and says "The wind blows for anyone who...." and then the student states something about themselves that is also true for others in the group. If it is true about them too, the students have to trade spots. For example, one student said, "The wind blows for anyone who is wearing jeans" and everyone who was wearing jeans had to move and find a new spot to stand. Whoever was left in the middle of the circle had to form their own phrase using "The wind blows for anyone who"

Reminders/New vocabulary:
*Remember "anyone" fits in the 3rd person singular category (likes, goes, has, plays, eats, speaks, studies, is wearing/does/doesn't)
a pair of earrings: um par de brincos
a ring: um anel
an electric guitar: uma guitarra

We also played a game called What's the Question? towards the end of class.
In this game students took turns writing answers on the board and their peers had to guess what the question was. Some of the questions that were asked were:
1. What's your dog's name?
2. Who is your favorite singer?
3. What is your father's name?

Thanks for spending your Friday morning practicing English! Have a great weekend! :)
