Conversation Hour 1/7

At  conversation hour on monday, we checked in with each other at the beginning of the class with the following sentences:

1. How are you feeling today?
I am feeling ....

2. How was your weekend?
My weekend was ...

3. How was class today?
Class today was ...

Next, we played a game where students were divided up into 4 teams and shown a picture of something happening in the United States. Teams only had 2 minutes to look at the picture before they had to write as many words as they could remember.

Students found this photograph especially interesting. It is a photograph of American reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Have you ever heard of the Pledge of Allegiance?

The Pledge of Allegiance is an expression of loyalty to the United States government that is recited every morning in public schools before classes begin and is said by congressmen before every congressional session at the federal and local level. Here is how it goes:

I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands
one nation, under God, indivisible
with liberty and justice for all.
