Conversation Hour 29/7

Conversation hour had a lot more students Monday because classes resumed!

We started class by talking about what we did over the break/vacation.

We played a game as a large group in which, one at a time, students picked a question out of a bag and chose another student in the classroom to answer it. The student who answered the question, selected the next question and chose the next student to answer.

Some of the questions that were chosen from the bag included:
Are you "a night owl" or "an early bird"?
What do you like to do in your free time?
If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
What kind of books do you like to read? Do you have a favorite book?
How many siblings do you have?
What is your favorite season? Why?
If you could have any super power what would it be? Why?
Would you like to live in a different city? Where?
Where is the coolest place you've ever been?
What kind of music do you like?
What's your favorite animal and why?
Where do you like to study?

Vocabulary

In this class I also started to establish some rules about speaking English in class. I told students that I will speak English in class and not resort to speaking Portuguese. However, if necessary, students may translate what I say to their peers to help them understand. I reminded students that the two of us will only be here for another 4 months so we have to take advantage of the opportunity to practice English.
